Environmental Policy
Bringing fictional worlds to life for gamers around the world is our mission—but protecting the real world is our passion. If gaming has taught us anything, it’s that every action counts. We believe in minimizing our environmental impact to create a healthier, thriving planet. That guiding principle is woven into everything we do:
- Clean energy - We’ve been powered by renewable energy since 2021.
- Remote work and work from anywhere (WFA) - To further reduce emissions, our team can work remote or hybrid, and can work from anywhere in the world for up to 90 days per year.
- Carbon offsetting - We partner with Games Forest Club to offset our emissions and we’re a member of the Playing for the Planet Alliance.
- Employee engagement and volunteering - Our employees can use up to 20 hours per year for volunteer work to support causes that are important to them.
- Zero waste and trash sorting - We’ve gone paperless (except when we’re legally required to print things) and, in our Berlin and Montreal offices, we ensure that all waste is either sorted, recycled, or composted.
- Clothing and equipment recycling - We have a clothing exchange program for our employees and donate our used office equipment to be repaired or repurposed for educational use.
- Sustainable food choices - We provide vegan and vegetarian meals in the office, and our kitchen is stocked with plant-based milk alternatives to help reduce our footprint even more.
